What Actually Is Holistic Healthcare?
If you’ve ever left an appointment feeling unheard — or been told “everything looks normal” despite not feeling your best — you’re not alone. Many people are looking for a more compassionate, whole-person way to manage their health. That’s where holistic healthcare comes in.
So, what does “holistic” actually mean?
Holistic healthcare focuses on you as a whole person, not just the symptoms you’re experiencing. It recognises that your physical, mental, emotional, and even spiritual wellbeing are all interconnected. Rather than treating issues in isolation, holistic healthcare aims to understand the root causes and restore overall balance.
This might involve exploring your lifestyle, diet, sleep, stress levels, emotional wellbeing, and medical history — not just what’s happening on the surface.
Key Principles of Holistic Healthcare
✅ Whole-Person Focus
Every part of your health is considered. Body, mind, and lifestyle all play a role in how you feel day to day.
✅ Personalised Care
There’s no one-size-fits-all plan. You’ll receive advice and support that’s specific to your needs, symptoms, and life.
✅ Natural Approaches
Holistic care often uses gentle, natural solutions like nutrition, movement, relaxation techniques, and complementary therapies.
✅ Listening and Time
Appointments are unhurried. You’ll be listened to properly, and your concerns will be taken seriously.
How It Works at Natural Healthcare
At Natural Healthcare, I (Marianne) take a calm, collaborative approach. As a Registered Nurse with further training in nutrition, pain management, aromatherapy and naturopathy, I combine professional clinical knowledge with compassionate, natural care.
Appointments are available at the Axminster Health & Wellbeing Centre, or I can come to you — with home visits across Seaton, Devon, Dorset and Somerset.
You’ll be supported, not rushed — with time to talk, ask questions, and truly feel heard.
